Strood Youth Centre
Strood Youth Centre provides a place for 10-year-olds and
older to socialise and learn new skills. Professional, experienced
youth workers from a range of different backgrounds offer
information, support and advice on a range of issues.
Activities
The purpose of the work carried out at the centre is to ensure
that all young people can take part in activities that are educational, developmental
and fun. This enables them to acquire knowledge in a formal and
informal way and support them as they develop into responsible and
caring citizens.
Activities include:
Equal opportunities
There are rules and policies that everyone needs to follow to
ensure that all people coming to the centre can enjoy the
experience equally and get the best from it.
Medway Council has an equal opportunities policy. This means
that it aims to make its services available to everybody. You can
help the council by respecting the needs and differences of all the
other people who use the centres.
Unacceptable behaviour
Persistent unacceptable behaviour can do many things. It can
upset, offend or spoil it for others. It can even put others in
danger. Therefore, the centres have a policy to help control
unacceptable behaviour and can suspend members from the
centres.
For more details about the policies, please ask staff at one of
the centres.
