Woodlands Youth Centre
Woodlands Youth Centre is a great place to go. Young people can
socialise and learn new skills. The staff are supportive and
professional. Most are experienced workers who come from a range of
backgrounds.
There is a dance studio, music room, social area and a café.
There is also a variety of equipment available, including a pool
table, karaoke and games consoles. It’s also a great place to make
new friends and build confidence through activities like art
workshops. All young people who come to the centre are asked to
agree to and sign a membership form and code of conduct.
Activities
The purpose of the work carried out at the Woodlands Youth
Centre is to ensure that all young people have the opportunity to
take part in a activities that are
educational, developmental and fun. This enables them to acquire
new skills and knowledge in formal and informal ways and support
them as they develop into responsible and caring citizens.
Equal opportunities
There are rules and policies that everyone needs to follow to
ensure that all people coming to the centre can enjoy the
experience equally and get the best from it.
Medway Council has an equal opportunities policy. This means
that it aims to make its services available to everybody. You can
help the council by respecting the needs and differences of all the
other people who use the centres.
Unacceptable behaviour
Persistent unacceptable behaviour can do many things. It can
upset, offend or spoil it for others. It can even put others in
danger. Therefore, the centres have a policy to help control
unacceptable behaviour and can suspend members from the
centres.
For more details about the policies, please ask staff at one of
the centres.
